Jack Wada inducted into the Bay Area Fighting Arts Hall of Fame
On Sunday October 22nd, I was honored to perform an aikido demonstration during the Oakland Raider-Cincinnati Bengals game. It was an event called Asian Heritage Week, and the half-time demonstrations select Bay Area martial arts schools and teachers performed demonstrations honoring the spirit of Bruce Lee. I was honored as were the other teachers at a pre-game ceremony as well as doing the half-time presentation.
The whole occasion was made even more special by the appearance of Linda Lee, Bruce Lee's widow. I got a chance to meet her briefly and posed in a group photo with her.
Even though Aikido is about harmony and not a fighting art, I was also honored to be inducted into the Bay Area Asian Fighting Arts Hall of Fame by the Oakland Raiders and Executive Directors George Chung and Wayne Chang. A good time was had by all attending Aikido of San Jose members. And the Raiders scored 10 points in the last 60 seconds and won.
