Aikido of San Jose

The Lineage (Aikido history) of
Jack Wada and Aikido of San Jose

Matsuri in B flat is a history of Jack Wada and Aikido of San Jose's lineage in Aikido. Of course the lineage of Aikido starts with Morihei Ueshiba Osensei. Jack's starts with the San Francisco Bay Area of the late 60's (he started with Robert Frager and Robert Nadeau senseis) then moves on to the Shingu dojo(where he studied with Hikitsuchi, Anno, Yanase and Tojima senseis) in Japan in the early 70's. All of his teachers were personal students of Ueshiba Osensei. Jack took over the San Jose dojo from Nadeau sensei in 1980. Also highlighted are some photos of Jack with his daughter Jennifer, who in November of 1978 was born in the original Japantown location of the dojo. Video footage covers mainly his time in Shingu and his work in the 90's . The musical piece Matsuri in B flat (formerly Holidaze) is an original compostion by Dennis Kyne and Jack Wada. It is heavily influenced by the music of Chet Baker (hopefully lyrical, free, fluid, yet conveying an underlying intensity). Other recent videos such as Floating Clouds cover his more recent aikido. They also highlight the newer generation of Aikido of San Jose students and teachers. So the lineage continues...
